How to Make Butter from Raw Milk:

1. Start with fresh raw milk. It’s important to use high-quality raw milk to ensure the best flavor and texture in your butter.

2. Let the raw milk sit for a few hours to allow the cream to rise to the top. Skim off the cream using a spoon, ladle, or my personal favorite a turkey baster. Make sure not to get too much milk while skimming or it will not separate.

3. Pour the cream into a clean glass jar or butter churn. Make sure to leave some room at the top for the cream to expand as it is churned.

4. Secure the lid on the jar or churn and start churning! You can use a butter churn, hand mixer, or even a mason jar with a tight lid. Keep churning until the cream separates into butter and buttermilk.

5. Once the butter has formed, pour off the buttermilk and save it for baking or cooking. Rinse the butter with cold water to remove any remaining buttermilk.

6. Add salt if desired for flavor. You can also mix in herbs or spices for a flavored butter.

7. Store the butter in a clean container in the refrigerator. Enjoy your homemade butter on toast, muffins, or in your favorite recipes!

Conclusion:

Churning butter from fresh raw milk is a simple and rewarding process that results in a rich and creamy spread for all your culinary needs. With just a few basic steps, you can enjoy the delicious taste of homemade butter made from high-quality raw milk. Give it a try and elevate your cooking and baking to a whole new level!
